Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Easter Hat Parade
North Star Public School was filled with colour, laughter, and creativity during our annual Easter Hat Parade. Students proudly showcased their handmade Easter hats, each one a unique creation bursting with imagination, glitter, and bunny ears galore! It was wonderful to see the time and effort students put into designing and crafting their hats, with help from families at home and support from teachers at school.
Following the parade, everyone joined in the fun of the Easter Egg Hunt, where excitement filled the playground as students searched high and low for hidden treats. The day finished with a delicious community barbeque lunch, bringing parents, staff, and friends together to share in the celebration.
Events like these highlight what makes North Star Public School so special — the sense of community spirit and togetherness. It was a joyful day that reminded us how wonderful it is to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories as a school community.
Education Week
Education Week 2025 in New South Wales was celebrated from August 4-8, 2025, under the theme " Ignite your potential". The week was dedicated to celebrating the strength and achievements of public education. North Star Public School invited parents to visit classrooms and through our School Bulletin and a special assembly we celebrated the unique strengths and talents of our students. Recognising each child’s individual abilities whether in the classroom, on the sports field, through creativity, or in leadership—helps build confidence and a love of learning. At North Star Public School, we value the diverse skills our students bring and take pride in supporting them to reach their full potential.
Pulse Alive
Our North Star Public School students took part in the Pulse Alive program — a vibrant celebration of creativity and performance. Students attended face-to-face workshops, rehearsals, and performances. This unique opportunity allowed them to develop their artistic talents, build confidence, and collaborate with students from other schools in an inspiring and supportive environment.
“Parents ask me what it is like to have our children at a small school, my answer is always the same. It is like you are part of a big family. North Star Public School is somewhere your kids can learn in a warm and nurturing environment and it is the lifeblood of our small rural community.” Camilla Doolin P&C President North Star Public School
