Events

School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Small Schools Boomi Excursion

Our students had a wonderful time attending the Boomi Mini School on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 March. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to work alongside peers from other small schools, build friendships and develop new skills. Activities included Environmental Education where students observed, drew and labelled bugs, drama workshops, NRL skills and games, coding, and drone use for Stage 3 students, including how drones are used on farms. Students also explored cultural learning through meeting sticks. A highlight for many was the swimming pool, with students even enjoying the artesian spa. The disco was a great success, with a lively dance-off and card games enjoyed by all.

Open day

North Star Public School held a wonderful Open Day, welcoming parents and community members to celebrate our school spirit. Families enjoyed visiting classrooms to see students’ learning in action and exploring engaging technology displays presented by Mrs Taylor. The day was filled with smiles and laughter as everyone came together to share a BBQ lunch, followed by a friendly and fun student-versus-parent netball game to finish off the event. It was a great opportunity to showcase our school community and the amazing things happening at North Star Public School.

ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day is a time for all Australians to come together to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served our country in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. At North Star Public School, our students proudly march each year to show their respect and gratitude to those who fought for our freedom. The whole community gathers for this important event, reflecting on the bravery of the ANZACs and the enduring values of courage, mateship, and remembrance.
